Ravi Agrawal's Term as CBDT Chairman Extended by 6 Months
On Tuesday, the government prolonged the term of Ravi Agrawal, who chairs the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), for an additional six months. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved Agrawal's reappointment as Chairman. This extension is effective from July 1 and will last until December 31, or until new directives are issued, whichever comes first. Agrawal was initially appointed as the CBDT's chief for a one-year period in June 2024.
