Rajnath Singh holds talks with Sri Lankan PM in Colombo
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held a meeting with Sri Lankan Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya in Colombo, where he described India and Sri Lanka as prime illustrations of the power of democracy. During the discussion, he emphasized the importance of bilateral relations, the Vision MAHASAGAR initiative, India’s USD 4 billion financial assistance provided during the 2022 economic downturn in Sri Lanka, and the relief efforts delivered under Operation Sagar Bandhu following the Ditwah cyclone. Additionally, Singh paid visits to the IPKF memorial and the Gangaramaya Temple.
