Rajan questions link between high GDP growth and job creation
Ex-RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan stated he has not challenged or supported the recent official figures indicating a 7.8% GDP rise for Q1 FY27. Rajan raised concerns by asking why there is a lack of significant private investment, foreign direct investment, and quality employment if the economy is expanding at such a robust pace. Previously, former Finance Secretary SC Garg had suggested that India's actual economic growth stood at just 2.6%.
