Railways to set up water purifiers at 20,000 spots following CAG report on E. coli
The Railway Ministry has unveiled plans to provide clean drinking water by setting up modern filtration units at approximately 20,000 sites throughout its network. Additionally, the department will swap out aging water tanks and perform routine quality checks at both supply sources and dispensing points. This initiative comes in response to a CAG audit that detected E. coli bacteria in water cooler samples collected from eight different railway stations.
