Questions raised over ₹2,192-crore government deep-tech funding
The government’s deep-tech initiative has sanctioned ₹2,192 crore in soft loans to 22 private firms during its initial funding phase. However, a probe revealed that 15 of these beneficiaries had financial ties to seven individuals serving on the selection panel. These specific companies were awarded more than ₹1,377 crore, accounting for roughly 62% of the total distributed funds. The committee members involved have rejected any allegations of misconduct.
