PV Sindhu becomes first Indian shuttler to enter Japan Open final
Double Olympic medal winner PV Sindhu has created history by becoming the first Indian player to secure a spot in the Japan Open 2026 final. During the semi-final match, Sindhu was ahead 21-19, 15-10 when her opponent, world number four Chen Yufei of China, had to withdraw because of a hamstring injury. This achievement also marks the first time Sindhu has made it to the final of any tournament since 2024.
