Punjab minister Aman Arora has labeled the one-day mass casual leave taken by secretariat employees on Tuesday as "illegal" due to their demands for outstanding Dearness Allowance (DA) and arrears. He cautioned that the administration would take action against those involved. Arora noted that the state has already fulfilled a portion of the employees' requests by increasing the DA from 42% to 60% for 85,000 workers. However, employee unions maintain that six DA installments dating back to January 2023 remain unpaid.
