Punjab government de-addiction centres report 164% jump in patients
State-run de-addiction facilities across Punjab have recorded a significant spike in patient numbers, climbing from 9,577 in 2024 to 25,290 in 2025, marking an increase of more than 164 percent. This upward trend has persisted into the current year, as over 14,000 individuals had already been admitted to these government-run centers by July. Additionally, there has been a notable surge in the number of people seeking treatment at government rehabilitation facilities.
