Punjab farmer makes ₹12 lakh annually through dragon fruit farming

Satnam Singh Aulakh, a 39-year-old farmer from Thulewal village in the Barnala district of Punjab, has become a model for crop diversification. By moving away from traditional farming methods to grow dragon fruit on four acres of land, he now generates an annual income of approximately ₹12 lakh. Additionally, this shift has allowed him to use much less water than what is typically required for paddy crops.
