Professor Umesh V Waghmare appointed as DST Secretary
The Appointments Committee has officially named experienced physicist Professor Umesh V Waghmare to lead the Department of Science and Technology (DST) as its new Secretary. A physicist from JNCASR, Waghmare takes over from Professor Abhay Karandikar, who has transitioned to Niti Aayog, and Dr. Rajesh Gokhale, who had been managing the role on an interim basis.
