Director Priyadarshan stated that the third part of 'Hera Pheri' is effectively finished due to various ongoing legal complications. He further accused producer Firoz Nadiadwala of repeatedly disrespecting him and claimed that Nadiadwala advised Akshay Kumar against working with him on the sequel. Priyadarshan recalled, "He remarked that my edit of Hera Pheri [2000] appeared to be a low-budget version."
