PM E-DRIVE scheme duration increased; electric two-wheeler subsidies reduced
The central government has pushed the deadline for the PM E-DRIVE program by two years, now set to conclude on March 31, 2028. Support for electric two-wheelers has been reduced by 50 percent to ₹2,500 per kWh, with a maximum limit of ₹5,000 for each vehicle costing up to ₹1.5 lakh. According to the Ministry of Heavy Industries, the overall budget for the initiative stays at ₹11,900 crore.
