Pilots' union proposes independent aviation body to take over from DGCA
The Federation of Indian Pilots (FIP) has reached out to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting the establishment of an independent Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to take the place of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). In their formal letter, the FIP stated that this new body would help boost regulatory efficiency and foster the ongoing expansion of one of the globe's primary aviation sectors. The union further emphasized that the proposed CAA must possess full financial and administrative autonomy.
