Pierre Gasly claims maiden F1 pole at Italian Grand Prix
Alpine driver Pierre Gasly achieved the first pole position of his F1 career during qualifying at the Italian Grand Prix. He narrowly beat Mercedes' George Russell by 0.060 seconds and McLaren's Oscar Piastri by 0.180 seconds. Gasly, 30, previously claimed his only career race win at the Italian GP back in 2020. Elsewhere, Max Verstappen, who won the 2025 Italian GP, ended the qualifying session in sixth place.
