Perplexity CEO: US AI Export Controls Strengthen China
Aravind Srinivas, CEO of Perplexity AI, has stated that the US government's restrictions on exporting artificial intelligence and related technologies are inadvertently making China more powerful. Srinivas explained, "They [China] can…build data centres…a lot faster. By forcing them to go out there and build…you're converting them into a far more…potent competitor." This comes after the US government recently directed Anthropic to suspend global access to its advanced AI models.
