Over 500 fresh dengue infections reported in Bengal in one week
West Bengal has seen more than 500 additional dengue cases over the last week, pushing the annual count past 4,500. Murshidabad continues to be the most affected area, reporting 96 recent cases for a total of 870. Kolkata is next with 402 recorded cases. Following the release of a standard operating procedure for dengue control, medical authorities have stepped up blood screenings and house-to-house monitoring.
