Over 100 school buses in Chikkamagaluru operating without valid fitness permits
Reports indicate that upwards of 100 school buses across Chikkamagaluru district are running without current Fitness Certificates (FCs). Both the Chikkamagaluru RTO and the Tarikere Assistant RTO have sent formal notices to the concerned schools regarding these lapsed documents. There is also growing worry regarding the installation of required GPS units and speed governors. Authorities have stated that any buses discovered to be in service without a valid FC during routine checks will be confiscated.
