Local authorities confirmed on Wednesday that more than 100 individuals lost their lives following a landslide at an artisanal gold mine in the Central African Republic on Tuesday. The tragedy took place close to the Cameroonian border. Footage circulating on social media seems to capture a mass of sand burying a group of people, who are thought to be miners.
