Oil costs climb following new American attacks on Iran

On Thursday, crude oil prices saw an additional increase following new military strikes by the United States against Iran. Brent crude futures climbed by 78 cents, a 1% rise, reaching $78.8 per barrel. Meanwhile, US West Texas Intermediate crude futures went up by 74 cents, or 1.01%, to hit $74.26 per barrel. The US military stated that these recent strikes were conducted to ensure the Strait of Hormuz remains accessible for shipping.
