Noida officials to pay ₹5 lakh from their salaries for activist's wrongful NSA detention
The Allahabad High Court has overturned the detention of activist Akriti Chaudhary, who was held under the National Security Act (NSA) following a protest in Noida. The court ordered the state to provide her with ₹5 lakh as compensation. This amount will be deducted from the salaries of the specific officials responsible for approving her detention, ranging from the District Magistrate down to the SHO.
