NHRC orders Delhi government to investigate high fares by app-based cabs and autos
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has sent a notice to the Delhi administration regarding complaints that app-based taxi and auto services are demanding fares higher than the official government limits. The commission has ordered the government to conduct an inquiry and provide a detailed report within a fortnight. NHRC member Priyank Kanoongo stated that collecting amounts beyond the set rates violates the rights of the public.
