NHRC intervenes as Gurugram hospital holds body over ₹18 lakh dues

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has intervened following the death of a 30-year-old man from Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, at a private medical facility in Gurugram amid a disagreement regarding outstanding charges. The victim's relatives stated they had already contributed ₹23 lakh toward medical expenses through personal savings and borrowed funds. Although the hospital requested a further ₹18 lakh, they released the deceased's remains after receiving a notice from the NHRC. An inquiry into the matter is currently underway.
