NHAI issues statement following criticism over Delhi-Dehradun Expressway potholes
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has addressed the criticism regarding large potholes that surfaced on the recently built ₹12,000-crore Delhi-Dehradun Expressway. According to the NHAI, the road surface collapsed because of water pooling, noting that they were unable to install a permanent cross-drainage system because of ongoing opposition from nearby residents. The authority further stated that work has already begun on a parallel drain spanning more than 1.5 kilometers.
