New yellow bacteria discovered in Uttar Pradesh pesticide waste
A team of scientists from Delhi University and CSIR-IMTECH has identified a previously unknown bacterial species, Microbacterium pollutisoli, living within contaminated pesticide soil in Uttar Pradesh. This bacterium possesses unique genetic traits that allow it to create useful substances, including those for vitamin production, stress resistance, and the possible development of new antibiotics.
