New packaging regulations issued for pan masala

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India has introduced stricter guidelines for how pan masala is packaged. According to these updated mandates, manufacturers are no longer permitted to use plastic or plastic-laminated materials for packaging. Instead, companies must switch to alternatives such as paper, paperboard, cellulose, or other materials sourced from nature. These packaging materials must be completely plastic-free, with no traces of polyethylene allowed.
