New 3D camera technology tracks invisible particles

Researchers at ETH Zurich have created a particle detection device named PLATON. It is capable of monitoring invisible particles, such as neutrinos, in high-definition 3D by utilizing a single block of light-emitting material. This device functions differently than standard cameras, as its light field technology records the specific direction of incoming light. The system achieves this by positioning a micro-lens array between the imaging sensor and the primary camera lens.
