Nepal sought early flood alerts from China months prior to disaster
According to a Reuters report, officials from Nepal and China gathered in Kathmandu this May to address disaster risks, just three months ahead of flash floods that resulted in more than 900 deaths. Nepal later indicated that it did not receive sufficient data from China regarding water levels and glacial shifts. In response, China maintained that it provided the necessary information to Nepal in a timely fashion.
