Nepal requests DNA for 5,132 people missing in Bhotekoshi floods

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) of Nepal has requested families living overseas to provide DNA samples to help identify those who went missing during the Bhotekoshi flash floods last month. Currently, 5,132 individuals are still unaccounted for, with 2,860 of those from the Rasuwa district. The confirmed death toll has reached 1,367. Officials stated that samples must be collected from blood relatives at approved forensic laboratories, accompanied by valid identification and formal consent.
