Nepal marked September 7 as a national day of mourning, nearly two weeks after devastating flash floods hit Rasuwa and nearby areas on August 26. The disaster claimed more than 1,340 lives, while approximately 5,000 individuals are still unaccounted for, among them 589 foreign nationals. About 32,000 households were forced to flee their homes due to the flooding. Rescue and recovery efforts are ongoing, with Indian personnel working alongside Nepali teams.
