Nearly 40% of British minors get around social media age limits

A study involving 2,299 children in the UK between the ages of 11 and 17 revealed that 39% managed to evade age verification protocols, even with the Online Safety Act in place to restrict teen access. The ability to circumvent these rules increases with age, growing from 28% for those aged 11 to 12 to 43% for the older group, with rates significantly higher for individuals using VPNs. Approximately 63% of these children gained access by falsely claiming to be older.
