On Tuesday, the insolvency tribunal NCLT started hearing the debt repayment proposal of media baron Subhash Chandra in a personal bankruptcy case with claims of more than ₹22,000 crore. Led by President Justice Anupinder Singh Grewal, a five-member bench has been set up for the first time in the history of the NCLT to hear the matter. During the proceedings, creditors contended that Chandra's offered payout of ₹6.5 crore was "unviable and unlawful".
