NASA Sets August 30 Launch Date for Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope
NASA has confirmed it is ready to deploy the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope on August 30 using a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket. To shield the equipment from intense heat, aerodynamic pressure, and acoustic vibrations during its ascent through the atmosphere, the telescope is housed inside a 43-foot tall fairing. Once launched, the telescope will travel to the Sun-Earth Lagrange Point 2, located approximately 1.5 million kilometers away from our planet.
