He replied to a social media user on X who claimed the film's ending was disrespectful to Hindu beliefs and Lord Krishna. To support his creative choice, Ashwin posted an excerpt from Bibek Debroy’s version of the 'Mahabharata', where Lord Krishna speaks highly of Karna to Arjuna. He stated, "I know what I'm doing."
