Mumbai schools swap vada pav and samosa for healthier options following Tukaram Mundhe's directive

Schools managed by the Archdiocesan Board of Education (ABE) in Mumbai have updated their canteen menus, replacing vada pav and samosa with healthier items like idli, dosa, poha, sheera, and upma. Additionally, carbonated beverages are no longer permitted in these canteens. This change follows a directive from the Maharashtra FDA, led by Tukaram Mundhe, which instructed schools to remove junk food from their campuses and from any shops located within 50 metres of school grounds.
