Mumbai flooding is a result of our own actions, not BMC's fault: Bombay HC
The Bombay High Court stated that residents should not hold the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) responsible for the city's monsoon flooding. The court remarked, "We have a strange habit of seizing land... we dump waste and debris into it, which blocks the drains... even a brief period of rain leads to road closures... this is entirely our own doing." The bench further noted that illegal encroachments and obstructed drainage systems have significantly aggravated the flooding issues.
