MP police investigate diversion of subsidised rice meant for ethanol unit
The Madhya Pradesh Police have initiated an investigation following reports that a government rice shipment, originally designated for the AVJ Agrico ethanol facility in Chhindwara, was redirected to a private mill. Authorities suspect that plant representative Rahul Pratap planned to sell the subsidised grain for a profit and substitute it with lower-quality rice for ethanol manufacturing. Law enforcement officials have confiscated 490 bags, totaling 242.55 quintals of rice.
