Microsoft shifts to internal AI models for Excel and Outlook
Microsoft is moving away from OpenAI and Anthropic technology, opting instead to integrate its own MAI models into Excel and Outlook. This transition aims to lower AI-related expenses and lessen the company's dependence on outside vendors. These internal models are currently handling thousands of requests every week, and Microsoft intends to roll them out to more of its software while keeping a versatile approach to its AI model usage.
