Microsoft-linked AI facility faces claims of operating without necessary permits
According to a report by The Guardian, DataOne—New Jersey’s biggest proposed AI data center—is accused of running numerous gas generators without obtaining the mandatory federal authorizations. Thermal imaging captured 45 out of 62 generators in use at the Vineland site, which provides AI computing power for Microsoft as part of a $17 billion agreement with Nebius. Bruce Buckheit, a former official at the EPA, stated that these activities may be in breach of federal regulations.
