Microsoft launches $2.5 billion AI initiative with 6,000-person team
Microsoft is dedicating $2.5 billion to a fresh division aimed at helping customers integrate AI technology. This project, dubbed Microsoft Frontier, will send 6,000 staff members to work directly with clients on forward-deployed engineering tasks. The move aligns Microsoft with competitors who are prioritizing similar strategies, including Amazon’s $1 billion FDE program, alongside comparable operations already established by OpenAI and Anthropic.
