Anima Anandkumar, a researcher of Indian descent, has been named to the TIME100 list of the most influential figures in artificial intelligence for 2026. An alumna of Cornell University and IIT Madras, she took on the role of Professor of Computing and Mathematical Sciences at Caltech in 2017. Alongside her husband, Benedikt Jenik, she turned down a multi-billion-dollar acquisition bid from a project supported by Jeff Bezos to focus on launching their own AI venture, Accelerated Understanding.
