Massive 3.2-gigapixel camera photographs 5,00,000 galaxies at once

The Vera C. Rubin Observatory in Chile has imaged the COSMOS field, showcasing more than 5,00,000 galaxies and 50,000 stars in a single frame. This picture was taken by the LSST Camera, the biggest digital camera on the planet. To create the final image, researchers stacked hundreds of separate exposures, allowing the light from distant, dim objects to slowly emerge.
