Maharashtra waives ₹48,000 crore in farmer electricity debts
The Maharashtra administration has declared a one-time cancellation of ₹48,000 crore in outstanding power bills for the farming community. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis noted that the state currently supplies complimentary electricity to farmers operating agricultural pumps with a capacity of up to 7 HP. Furthermore, he stated that all unpaid power charges for farmers utilizing agricultural pumps up to 7 HP will be completely cleared.
