Maharashtra pushes for UNESCO heritage status for Dahi Handi
Maharashtra Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar announced that the state plans to send Dahi Handi participants abroad to help secure UNESCO heritage recognition for the event. Groups that build towering human pyramids will travel to Spain to demonstrate the festival's traditional customs. Shelar also urged all participants to strictly adhere to safety guidelines, traffic regulations, and other necessary precautions.
