Maharashtra prohibits junk food sales within 50 metres of all schools

Maharashtra FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe has issued an order requiring all schools to stop the sale of unhealthy items like chips, chocolates, and soft drinks within a 50-metre radius of their campuses. This mandate covers all educational institutions, including pre-primary, primary, elementary, and secondary schools, as well as hostels and residential facilities, regardless of whether they are affiliated with the State Board, CBSE, ICSE, or other boards.
