Maharashtra permits homeopathy doctors to prescribe allopathic drugs, triggering backlash
Maharashtra has turned into the first Indian state to grant BHMS homeopathy practitioners the right to register with the Maharashtra Medical Council, provided they finish a Certificate Course in Modern Pharmacology. This registration permits them to issue prescriptions for specific modern medications. The move has led to demonstrations by the Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors (MARD), who initiated a strike in response. The Bombay High Court has since directed the association to end the protest.
