Maharashtra cancels Hindi language test for state staff

The Maharashtra administration has officially discontinued the Hindi language assessment previously required for government personnel. This decision follows the full transition to Marathi for all state-level administrative tasks. Previously, the test was a compulsory requirement to ensure Hindi could be used in official operations. This policy change takes effect retroactively, starting from May 7, 2026.
