Maharashtra: Beed bridge pillars crumble after kicks, video goes viral
A video circulating online from Beed, Maharashtra, has highlighted the shoddy construction of a bridge built at a cost of ₹48 lakh. The structure's protective pillars reportedly gave way after being kicked a few times. Local residents alleged that low-grade materials were utilized in the project and expressed worry that the bridge might collapse once the heavy monsoon rains arrive. The Public Works Department (PWD) has launched a probe into the matter following the viral footage, which has once again sparked a debate regarding the standards of state-funded infrastructure.
