Maharashtra ACB traps forest official in ₹45 lakh bribery case

The Maharashtra Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) successfully apprehended a forest department official by setting a trap with a package containing ₹5 lakh in real cash and ₹40 lakh in fake notes. The official, identified as Srinivas Lakhmawad, had reportedly asked for a bribe of ₹45 lakh. He was taken into custody by the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar branch of the ACB while allegedly receiving the money. The sting operation was launched after a formal complaint was filed against the officer on Wednesday.
