On Wednesday, the Madhya Pradesh administration issued a ban on the manufacturing, distribution, and consumption of analogue paneer, pointing to health risks and a desire to encourage the use of authentic dairy items. Analogue paneer serves as a low-cost alternative to traditional milk-based paneer, created by replacing milk with starch and vegetable fats. With this move, Madhya Pradesh joins Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Chhattisgarh as the fourth state to outlaw the product.
