Ladakh channels 90 million litres of glacier water to support 12 villages

Ladakh is now successfully capturing 90 million litres of glacier water every day that previously went to waste by flowing into the Indus River. By diverting meltwater from the Stok village Nallah in Leh into the Igoo-Phey Irrigation Canal, the region is providing water to 12 villages and irrigating more than 1,000 acres of land. This project was completed using basic earthwork techniques and did not require any major financial investment.
